The Farmers Market Manager is responsible for daily operations of one or more of our managed Markets. Our markets typically run from late May through late November; 2010 Market Managers will be required to attend 2 days of market vendor meetings and spend one full day at the office each week, leading up to the opening of their market, facilitating the vendor application and acceptance process, beginning in February/early March.

The Market Manager is the “go-to” person for vendors and consumers during market hours, and is the Mass Farmers Markets (MFM) representative on site. The job requires personal confidence and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people including municipal employees. INTERN:
I am looking for an intern who wants to learn about small-scale livestock production. We raise and direct-market grass-fed lamb, Berkshire pork, organic eggs and heritage turkeys. We will be adding cattle and pastured poultry this season. Intern will work directly with the farmer, including: daily chores with all livestock, move and install fencing in an intensively managed grazing operation, help with tractor maintenance and hay work. Must enjoy outdoor, physical work. CSA interest or experience a plus. Pay: Barter for meat shares, eggs and vegetables. Available May-October, 4 week minimum commitment.
