By cultivating school gardens in San Francisco’s under-served neighborhoods, Urban Sprouts partners with youth and their families to build eco-literacy, equity, wellness, and community. Our gardens help students become more engaged in school and connect with food, the environment and each other.
Urban Sprouts seeks an Operations Manger to assist the Executive Director in the areas of general administration, finance, and some development support. These responsibilities will be complemented by our fiscal sponsor’s accounting and administrative staff. For this reason, an advanced level of experience in bookkeeping is not necessary; a fast-learner with 3-5 years of experience in an administrative or financial role in a nonprofit organization is sought.

SOUL is a Regional Outreach Training Center for Growing Power along the Underground Railroad in Montgomery County, Maryland. Our mission is to Connect, Educate and Nourish communities. We have a 10 acre farm that will have hoop houses with aquaponics where we will grow food and teach others to do so. We have access to a commercial kitchen where we will teach canning, dehydrating and other simple food preservation techniques. We also teach food growing, prep, cooking and storage. Our initiative is to ban High Fructose Corn Syrup from the food stream in hopes that crops grown in this country will actually be healthy and nutritious and will be grown with an eye towards sustainability.
We are currently looking for farmers, a volunteer coordinator, a cooking teacher, and a grant writer.
