Urban Sprouts seeks an Operations Manger to assist the Executive Director in the areas of general administration, finance, and some development support. These responsibilities will be complemented by our fiscal sponsor’s accounting and administrative staff. For this reason, an advanced level of experience in bookkeeping is not necessary; a fast-learner with 3-5 years of experience in an administrative or financial role in a nonprofit organization is sought.

Sustainable Opportunities for Universal Learning (SOUL) seeks Several Positions

SOUL is a Regional Outreach Training Center for Growing Power along the Underground Railroad in Montgomery County, Maryland. Our mission is to Connect, Educate and Nourish communities. We have a 10 acre farm that will have hoop houses with aquaponics where we will grow food and teach others to do so. We have access to a commercial kitchen where we will teach canning, dehydrating and other simple food preservation techniques. We also teach food growing, prep, cooking and storage. Our initiative is to ban High Fructose Corn Syrup from the food stream in hopes that crops grown in this country will actually be healthy and nutritious and will be grown with an eye towards sustainability.

Blooming Glen Farm needs 2010 Interns

Blooming Glen Farm is seeking three full time, full season interns from April 1st to mid-November for 2010. We are a diverse organic (non-certified) vegetable farm marketing to a 225 member CSA (all on farm pick-up), a weekly farmers market locally and in Philadelphia, and wholesale to local restaurants. We grow a large variety of field crops and utilize our 7 greenhouses for season extension of a variety of crops including grafted heirloom tomatoes. We are located in scenic Upper Bucks County, an hour from downtown Philadelphia. We are a young ambitious farm looking for enthusiastic hard workers with a sincere interest in sustainable and organic agriculture. You will be an integral part of our team, and gain hands on experience in all aspects of the farm from seed to harvest.
