Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Equinox Community Farm, a small farm located approximately ten miles from downtown Madison in Waunakee is seeking one capable worker for the 2010 season. The applicant will be involved in all aspects of the farm which include vegetable, herb, and fruit production and marketing for a Community Supported Agriculture program and farmer’s market, raising grass-fed beef under management intensive grazing, and maple syrup production. The applicant will be the farm’s only employee and thus will work closely with the farmer and will have a great opportunity to experience and learn about all aspects of the farming process.
Applicants preferably will start in early May and continue until late October, although some flexibility is possible. Compensation will start at $550 per month plus a year-end bonus. On-farm housing may be possible.
Gardening/farming experience is preferred but not necessary. Applicants should show a passion for producing food in a sustainable fashion, strong work ethic, ability to do physically demanding work, and ability to work well alone and with others.
