Slow Food USA seeks to inspire and engage everyday people through grassroots advocacy and local projects that move towards a just and sustainable food system. A non-profit movement-building organization, Slow Food USA has 225 volunteer-led chapters across the country,
representing more than 28,000 members and reaching a network of 160,000 people. Slow Food USA advocates for food and farming policy that is good for the public, good for farmers and workers, and good for the planet; creates youth programs to bring the values of eating local,
sustainable and just food to schools and campuses; and preserves and promotes vanishing foods and food traditions. Slow Food USA has seen explosive growth over the past 18 months, and we anticipate that growth continuing. The Slow Food USA national headquarters is located in
Brooklyn, NY.

We are seeking a motivated Program Coordinator who will develop and implement a strategic, engaging and impactful national program for students in colleges and universities. The Program Coordinator will lead programming to support current campus chapters, help build new
chapters and involve new students, and develop campaigns that move towards a good, clean, and fair food system.

Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a national program, including leadership trainings and campaign development, for students in colleges and universities
• Coordinate Slow Food USA’s current 35 campus chapters and facilitate new chapter development
• Participate as the Slow Food USA representative in national alliances as needed
• Contribute to external and internal communications as needed (e.g. blog posts, publications)
• Represent the organization externally as needed (e.g. media, conferences, public speaking events)
• Participate fully in the Program staff team to help implement the Program Department work plan
• Participate in organizational projects as needed

Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years experience working with youth (ages 13 – 21), campus-based programs, and/or organizing/advocacy programs
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with a diverse range of constituencies
• Strong alignment with Slow Food USA’s mission

Preferred
• Experience in projects that address the food system
• Experience working with low-income, immigrant, and/or communities of color
• Experience working in alliances/networks
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Classification: Full-time, salaried.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience, benefits included.
