California: Bay Worms seeks Treasurer and Board Member

The Bay Worms is an organization dedicated to replenishing the earth’s soil through worm composting, turning organic material into worm castings, nature’s fertilizer. The Bay Worms collects organic scraps for composting in one of its self-harvesting worm compost systems in Alameda, keeping waste out of landfills and producing an invaluable product for gardeners.

Bay Worms Treasurer

We’re seeking an individual to serve as treasurer on our board of directors who is committed to our mission and who has financial management experience in non-profit organizations.  
This is a great opportunity to exercise leadership and creativity in an organization with a unique mission.
Responsibilities:
·     Manage the board’s budget oversight and financial management
·     Provide organizational leadership and advice and see that the organization functions effectively and efficiently
·     Provide oversight of program planning
·     Promote the organization in the community, including potential assistance with outreach and fundraising as time permits
Meetings and time commitment:
·     The board of directors meets an average of four times per year, pending their respective work agenda.
·     Board members are asked to attend no more than two special events or meetings per year, as they are determined.
