FRESH seeks Interns

Location: Several cities throughout the United States

The documentary film, FRESH, is looking for one intern in each of the following cities:  New York, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Austin, Boulder/Denver, Minneapolis and Chicago to publicize and coordinate FRESH Restaurant Week, which will coincide with the theatrical release of FRESH in each of these cities (from April through June).

This position starts immediately and lasts for at least 2 months.

Requirements: Intern should be interested in and knowledgeable of their local restaurant landscape, particularly those restaurants that use locally-sourced and sustainably-produced ingredients.  The Intern should also be comfortable contacting restaurant owners/chefs to present the opportunities of FRESH Restaurant Week.  An ideal candidate is extremely well-organized, time-line oriented and enthusiastic.

FRESH Synopsis:  FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.

Among several main characters, FRESH features urban farmer and activist, Will Allen, the recipient of MacArthur’s 2008 Genius Award; sustainable farmer and entrepreneur, Joel Salatin, made famous by Michael Pollan’s book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma; and supermarket owner, David Ball, challenging our Wal-Mart dominated economy.
