San Francisco: CUESA seeks Market/Event Assistant and Administrative Assistant

The Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA) is now hiring a part-time Market & Event Assistant and a part-time Administrative Assistant through the special San Francisco County Stimulus Program jobs.  Job Seekers must be eligible for ARRA Stimulus Funding to apply. Overview of the CUESA Market & Event Assistant position

Assist with the development and production of the educational exhibits and displays used in the Education Booth during the Saturday Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

Assist with the development, production and staffing of other special events at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, including Seasonal Celebrations, Spring Breakfast, and Media Day.

Assist with the development, production and staffing of the market’s Celebration of Sustainable Agriculture event during the Giants County Fair, including working with exhibitors.

Staff the Education Booth on Saturdays; train and supervise volunteer staff assisting at the Education Booth and other market events.

Qualifications:  experience in planning, developing or managing educational programs, live demonstrations, exhibits or displays; experience in training and working with volunteers; strong public speaking and communication skills; customer service experience; interest in and awareness of sustainable food and agriculture issues.

Overview of the CUESA Administrative Assistant position

Assist with data entry and general office duties.

Assist with general research, such as verifying and assembling media lists, and assembling prospective corporate sponsor lists.

Qualifications: experience in data entry and familiarity with basic data base systems; ability to operate basic office equipment, including photocopiers and postal meters; customer service experience; interest in and awareness of sustainable food and agriculture issues.
