New York: Community Markets seeks Marketing & Operations Assistant

Work with a leading developer of farmers markets in metro New York.  Our goal is to enable more people to be able to buy more good, locally grown and locally produced food. 

Community Markets has been creating and managing farmers markets for 20 years.  We’re based in Westchester and manage markets in NYC and Rockland Counties as well. 

We have an opening for an enthusiastic all around assistant.  This job is an opportunity to get involved in the creation of a sustainable local food system.

The Marketing & Operations Assistant provides support for marketing as well as operational functions including answering phones, generating e-mail newsletters, supporting our recipe program and more.  The successful candidate will also spend some time in the field, filling in for site managers and more.  There’s lots do do and lots to learn about the local food movement

This is a full time position w/benefits.  Some weekend work is necessary, needs a car. 

Qualifications:  BA or equivilant work experience.  Must be a good communicator, flexible, work well with others, and be self motivated.  Must be skilled in MS Office (Word and Excel) & web applications.
