Massachusetts: Massachusetts Farm to School Project seeks January Intern

29 Nov

The Massachusetts Farm to School Project is a grassroots organization working to match up local farms and schools to provide healthier school food options for students, a steady market for farmers, and an increased awareness of the importance of supporting our local agricultural economy in Massachusetts.

We are looking for an intern for the month of January 2011 to conduct research and compile resources for our various types of constituents (food service directors, farmers, community advocates, etc).

In addition, we are launching an intensive community college farm purchasing initiative, and will be working on initial communication to make this happen during the month of January. The internship will be unpaid, but college credit may be available via the UMass PSIS department. The intern should be able to work 16 hours a week, Tuesday through Friday.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, some background/education in agriculture and/or food service, and the ability to switch gears between projects with ease. Graphic design skills would be a plus, as well.

The location of the office is in Amherst, MA.

Please contact Emily French at for further information and to submit an application.
