Our farm is growing and we are looking for a manager to run the vegetable component of a multi-unit farming operation. This diverse farm has sheep, cattle, hogs, chickens and turkeys. All units of the farm will be supplying a local restaurant and specialty farm store that will include an artisanal cheese counter, a bakery, a butcher, fresh vegetables and prepared items.
The right farmer will have experience growing for restaurants and markets in the Northeast. A highly diversified crop schedule will be followed and will include season extension. The vegetable manager will oversee 1-2 employees for field work, harvesting and washing. Candidate should have some experience with tractors and small-scale vegetable implements.
