NYC: Negev Nectars seeks Director of Operations and Marketing

Negev Nectars is a unique venture that brings the finest gourmet, sustainably produced
and organic foods from the Negev region of Israel directly to American consumers.
Negev Nectars is a values-driven business with the mission to promote the use of
sustainable growing practices in the desert region of Israel and contribute to the
economic development of this critical region of the country.

The Director of Operations and Marketing manages all aspects of this business from
coordinating product development and the subsequent shipments with farmers on the
Israel side, producing packages and channels of distribution for the products, working
to market and sell the fine goods on the American side, and managing the Negev
Nectars brand. 

Together with founder Marvin Israelow the Director of Operations and Marketing will
continue to build the young business and further the positive impact on the lives of
small-scale farms in the south of Israel.

The position requires a full time, though flexible schedule and involves travel to sites
throughout the New York Metropolitan area.  It is based both out of New York City and
Chappaqua, NY. The Director of Operations and Marketing manages his/her own time
on a day-to-day basis in response to the needs of the business and reports to Marvin
Israelow, founder and owner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan out product line and develop membership packages and other product
offerings

• Coordinate shipments of organic products from Israeli farms in the Negev to
Westchester, NY
Maintain relationships with customers, farmers and all partner institutions

• Cultivate new relationships with complementary organizations, potential
customers and relevant supportive communities

• Plan out product lines for member and various other packages

• Promote the business on the web, through the press and physically at events and
markets

• Manage designers, interns, volunteers, administrative assistants and part-time
staff

• Continue to develop and improve upon systems for processing and fulfilling
orders, monitoring product inventory and freight shipping

• Maintain website and general web presence

• Write and manage mass-mailings and periodic newsletter

PRIOR EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION

• BA required, MBA and/or business experience a plus, with a track record of
delivering real results through both ideas and execution preferred

• Experienced with marketing and sales through both conventional means and
online media

• A passion for supporting sustainable agriculture in Israel

• Strong writing skills for website copy, periodic newsletter

• Detail-oriented, able to manage complex customer data base

• Strong web skills for website management, social media marketing and mass-
emailing

• Hebrew Language Proficiency

• Strong Microsoft Excel Skills

• Quickbooks Skills a plus

• Self-motivated and able to work both independently at times and to manage a
team at other times

• Able to multi-task

• Willing to lift boxes and drive company vehicles when necessary

Salary commensurate with experience. Flexible work hours.
