FARM ASSISTANTS: 5 Spring Internships Available (20-30 hours/week, 8-12 credits), 2 going through summer
The Farm Assistant (FA) team will work together under the guidance of the Farm Manager to prepare the GRuB farm for the season. You will receive training in group facilitation, greenhouse production, field preparation, small-scale seeding and transplanting techniques, farm planning and record keeping, and various other early-season farm activities. As FAs, you will also be GRuB ambassadors, working with youth, volunteers, and GRuB staff during our busiest time. While stewarding the farm is your primary role, you also will have the option to experience other GRuB activities including building a KGP backyard garden and helping with an elementary school fieldtrip visit.Summer interns will do similar work, however in the busiest time of the season. You’ll spend more time with the youth crew and volunteers in harvesting, maintenance, and at our market stand.

EDUCATION PROGRAM INTERN: 1 Spring Internship Available (10-20 hours/week, 4-8 credits)
Love kids? Love vegetables? GRuB’s Education Program is now accepting applications for a spring intern! As an Education Program intern, you will work with the program coordinator to plan and facilitate one-time and ongoing field trips with elementary, middle, and some high school students. Helping to organize and support volunteers, develop lesson plans, and facilitate field trips for 4 to 50+ students will be the main part of your position. You may also support our Cultivating Youth Employment Program and our day-to-day farm needs. You’ll receive training and practical experience in basic agricultural practices, group facilitation skills such as conflict resolution, volunteer coordination skills, and strategies for working with students with special needs. If your schedule and interests permit, you may be able to take on additional responsibilities around the farm.
