Maryland: Maryland State Department of Education seeks Child Nutrition Education Specialist

Maryland State Department of Education has a position open for a Child Nutrition Education and Training Staff Specialist. In this new position the individual will work in a highly energized team environment to:

  • provide training and technical assistance for Maryland agencies that participate in the USDA Child Nutrition Programs;
  • lead the development and implementation of e-learning activities to support training; and
  • manage relationships with outside agencies to support e-learning.

The Maryland State Department of Education(MSDE) administers several of USDA’s child nutrition programs, including the National School Lunch Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Summer Meals Program, and more.  MSDE has a successful track record of applying for and implementing  USDA training grants. Currently we are managing three grant projects. This is a great opportunity for a self directed person to work in a dynamic environment to creatively design and deliver training using face to face and e-learning options. Leads the development and implementation of e-learning systems for the School of Community and Nutrition Branch.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health/Administration, Food Service Management, Education, Marketing, or related area & 2 yrs prof exp in training req’d. Exp in instructional stem design, and exp w/ child nutrition programs is preferred. Exp in conducting e-professional development courses desirable.
