Kentucky: Harvest Restaurant seeks FOH Manager

Job Summary: Plan, organize, direct, and help coordinate the workers and resources of the restaurantfor the efficient, well communicated, and profitable service of local food and beverages. Act as thepublic face, on a day to day basis, of local food and agriculture. Work with BOH management, staff, andowners to develop communication strategies related to local food.
Job Tasks, Responsibilities and Authorities:
Interact with customers wherever possible to help make the restaurant experiencecomfortable and friendly. Develop and maintain relationships with regular customers andwork to make everyone, known or not, feel like a friend or vip.Work regularly with BOH management and staff to secure local food related details forcommunication with our customers (cuts of meat, sorts of produce, growing practices,names of producers, etc.).Take every opportunity to subtly and not so subtly do the educational work related to localfoods, including regarding seasonality and availability.Help develop, maintain, and improve educational materials related to local food andagriculture.Maintain liquor and labor costs in the FOH (including a regular inventory of liquor on hand)in a detailed manner that is easy to track, share, and present (including, for example, as thecase may be, why we have lower or higher costs than expected in a particular area, and inwhat ways we might make the appropriate adjustments).Develop FOH section of the employee manual in consultation with owners.Hire, train, schedule, review, and fire (if required) FOH staff.Work in all other ways, as directed, to make the restaurant a well-managed and successfuleffort.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum two years general or front of house management experience; opening experiencea plus.Strong familiarity with local foods.Good working knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.Proficient with POS systems, Facebook, web-sites, Word, and other computer and internettechnologies.Good organizational skills and a strong ability to manage detail.Pleasant, polite manner for dealing with the public as well as staff.
FOH manager, along with BOH manager, reports to owners.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary and benefits commensurate with qualifications.Incentives and profit sharing upon recommendation and commensurate with the ability toexecute.
