North Carolina: Poplar Ridge Farm seeks Cut-Flower Grower

Poplar Ridge Farm is seeking part-time flower grower to assist in the expansion of the cut-flower program of our USDA-certified organic farm. The cut-flower grower will be supervised by the farm owner and manager and will work with others actively, both in the field and the office.

The position requires computer research, plant study, and marketing of our flowers. Most systems are in place and we need an individual to focus on the flower and herb part of our farm production.

The individual will work a regular schedule of 24-32 hours each week, Monday-Friday and some Saturdays.

About the Farm

Poplar Ridge Farm is an 80-acre horse and USDA certified-organic agricultural farm located in Union County, N.C., est. in 1995. We are 24 miles south of uptown Charlotte. Our climate during the early spring and into late fall is mild and summers can be hot and humid. We grow a wide variety of produce, flowers and herbs.

Our season begins mid-May and runs through December. We have two greenhouses and two high tunnels. We are a large CSA and host farm events.


Basic knowledge and interest of soil and plant production is necessary. We can hire a beginner if one has basic horticulture knowledge.

Good computer skills in Microsoft 2007 and Excel and Word and web research are needed.
