Michigan: Fat Blossom Farm seeks Apprentice

9 Apr

Our farm sits on 47 rolling acres in Southwest Michigan, midway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. We grow a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers for a CSA and Farmers Markets. Our mission is to provide healthy food grown using organic methods to our community.

In our apprentice program, you will learn all aspects of organic gardening. You will also learn about community building, garden construction, and trail building, and much more. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to try new things and focus on areas of your interest.

We currently have 3 full-time internship opportunities available from May through October. Interns will be expected to work 40-50 hours per week and will participate in and learn about all aspects of our farm operations including greenhouse work, planting, weeding, harvesting, and processing of food and flowers, forest trail maintenance, and assisting with on-farm special events.

We will provide interns with indoor housing and food as well as a $100 weekly stipend. Everyone will be expected to share the responsibilities of living communally and maintain a clean living environment. Special diets can be accommodated. We only speak English and will consider allowing children and pets on an individual basis.
