Earth Learning is a nonprofit 501 (c) located in Miami hoping to expand the Greater Everglades FoodShed in an environmentally sound way. Community FoodWorks is a project funded by the USDA through the grant to train new and beginning farmers.  For more information about our company please visit Earth-Learning.org. All levels of apprentices will have the opportunity to learn the many different facets of food growth and distribution.  The program trains individuals in organic and farming practices through three different farm sites, offers a free permaculture design certification class, and allows for them to work at a Farmers’ Market run by Earth Learning.

Farmer Apprenticeships are unique opportunities for those with limited farming and growing experience to be exposed to permaculture applied to a wide range of urban agricultural practices. Farm Apprentices work under the guidance of Managerial Apprentices in carrying out projects in a variety of locations. In some cases, Farm Apprentices who demonstrate interest and dedication in continuing with Community FoodWorks will have the opportunity to advance into the Managerial Apprenticeship positions.
