New Hampshire: Apple Annie seeks Orchard Apprentices

28 Jun

Apple Annie is a small, family-run, low-spray apple orchard with 270 bearing trees. We offer pick-your-own apples, harvest apples to sell in the farm store and at markets, press fresh cider, and make baked goods, jam and jellies. Our farm store is open most days through the fall, and we sell products at a local farmers’ market. We feature solar panels on the house and barn, and are on the NH energy tour each fall. We are a musical group so we welcome instruments and singers.

We need one or two apprentices from late August until late October or November. Work includes harvesting apples, pressing cider, picking up drops, gardening, mowing, baking, and minding the store and farmers’ markets. We offer room and board at the farm with use of a bike and a kayak.

Projects are plenty, and we welcome creativity and joy in farm work. Special project ideas for this fall include scarecrow creating, refurbishing furniture, building a new chicken coop, marketing a Saturday music series, and hosting art or yoga classes.

Farm is in southeast NH in a rural setting near Exeter. We are one hour from Boston with train service nearby, twenty minutes to NH beaches, and one hour to mountains for hiking.

Please email if you are interested in this opportunity.
