Driftless Organics seeks a part-time Sales and Marketing Associate to grow their young Sunflower Oil enterprise. This person will work directly with the grower to expand the market for this product through in-store demos, developing buyer relationships, and general product marketing. Frequent travel within the Twin Cities, MN/Madison, WI market area will be required. This is a 10-20 hours/week position that would begin immediately and last at least through May 2012, with potential for long-term employment. Wage $12-15/hour commensurate with experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
– Adding new sunflower oil retail and commercial user sales accounts
– Building and managing buyer relationships
– Arranging and implementing in-store product sampling demonstrations
– Increasing customer awareness of and enthusiasm for local sunflower oil
– Developing marketing tools such as recipe cards or in-store promotions
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience with marketing and sales
– Experience working with and a passion for local foods
– Self-motivated, team-oriented, creative and organized
– Ability to work independently
– Valid driver’s license
– Personal phone (with usage compensation)
– Access to internet/email
– At least 1 year of related experience (required), 2-3 years of experience (preferred)
– Availability to work some evenings and weekends
