Virginia: The West End Farmers Market seeks two Interns

The West End Farmers Market, located in Alexandria, Va, is looking for two interns: Farmers Market Assistants, for the market season, July through November.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

AVAILABILITY: Assistant should be willing to commit to the full duration of the market season, July through November 20.  Assistants will work the market every other Sunday from 8:30am to 1:30pm and/or work during the week setting up for the weekend.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

Extroverted personality a must.  Outgoing, enthusiastic, dedicated and dependable.  They should have an interest in working with people, be gently informative, and open to conversation, dialogue and other points of view.  An interest and knowledge of local foods, organic foods, and how farmers markets build community is useful, but not absolutely necessary.  A set of articles will be provided and the interns will be expected to read them and be informed.    Continue reading

Orwasher’s has an immediate opening for a Farmer’s Market Representative to sell our bread at the new Massapequa Long Island Grower’s Market on Saturdays thorugh November, 7:30 Am to approx 3:30 PM.
Retail sales experience, especially at Open Air markets is a plus. You must be outgoing, dependable and enthusiastic about bread! You must have your own transportation to and from the market. Compensation up to $15 per hour.
Orwasher’s is New York’s original artisan bakery.
