Colorado: C.S.U. Extension seeks Small Farm State Specialist

Colorado State University Extension is seeking a qualified applicant for a Small Farm1 State Specialist.  This is a fixed-term, three-year, 12-month appointment.

Colorado State University is a leading public research university and the land-grant university for Colorado.  Current enrollment is more than 25,000 regular, on-campus students.  The Colorado State University campus is located in the city of Fort Collins, the county seat of Larimer County.

Colorado State University Extension is a major component of the University’s outreach organization with offices in 59 of Colorado’s 64 counties.  Through its county, state, and federal partnership Extension currently focuses its efforts in seven areas: Strong Families and Healthy Homes; Nutrition, Health and Food Safety; 4-H Youth Development; Sustainable Community Development; Natural Resources and the Environment; Clean Energy; and Competitive and Sustainable Agriculture Systems.  Working closely with local and state advisory groups to determine local program needs and direction, Extension draws on the resources of 13 different departments in five colleges to provide non-credit educational programs based on research-generated knowledge.   Continue reading

FRESH seeks Interns

Location: Several cities throughout the United States

The documentary film, FRESH, is looking for one intern in each of the following cities:  New York, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Austin, Boulder/Denver, Minneapolis and Chicago to publicize and coordinate FRESH Restaurant Week, which will coincide with the theatrical release of FRESH in each of these cities (from April through June).

Cure Organic Farm is seeking a Crew Leader

Location: Six miles East of Boulder, Colorado

Cure Organic Farm is seeking an experienced farmer to join us as our Crew Leader beginning March 2010. This is a great position for someone who has completed an internship position and is looking for more experience leading a field crew in all aspects of running a commercial small vegetable farm. The position requires experience in organic vegetable production, tractor operation, fieldwork, animal care, excellent communication. Dedication, self-motivation, a strong work ethic, leadership skills and a rock-solid good attitude are also necessary.
