NHC hosts and manages the National Hunger Hotline which provides thousands of callers struggling to feed their families with information about community-based resources and government programs to help them meet both short-term needs and long-term self-reliance. NHC advocates for progressive policies to end hunger and promote better nutrition by promoting the work of innovative community based emergency food programs and developing strategic partnerships with organizations and agencies promoting a healthy, just and sustainable food system.

Green Mountain Farm-to-School (GMFTS) is a nonprofit organization promoting the health of Vermont’s children, farms and communities by providing programs to connect schools and farms through food and education. In 2009-2010, GMFTS aims to serve 20 school communities in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont with school gardens, educational programming and local farm-fresh foods, benefiting over 2,750 students.

Green Mountain Farm-to-School seeks a dynamic, mission-driven educator with strong communications and strategic organizing skills to support the growth of our organization. The primary responsibilities of the Education Coordinator will be to develop, manage, grow, present, and evaluate GMFTS’ educational programs and provide general operational and administrative support.
