Earth Learning is a nonprofit 501 (c) located in Miami. We at Earth Learning believe that our food culture is at the core of our relationship with Earth, as individuals and communities.  For this reason, Earth Learning has begun to fashion its programs around inspiring the birth of a local, just, and sustainable foodshed in our home bioregion, the Greater Everglades.  For more information about our company please visit Earth-Learning.org. We have recently been expanding and will be needing an Office Manager to handle all the day-to-day responsibilities of the various projects. Candidates should have a strong background with at least 5 years experience in an office setting. We are looking for someone with solid organizational skills, the ability to coordinate with multiple projects, work on marketing endeavors and have some accounting skills. Computer skills are required.  We are hoping to find someone who is as dedicated to our vision as we are! We’re building a new business development and sales team to create, execute and continuously evaluate BTTR’s go-to-market strategy, with a critical role in prospecting and cultivating our most important customer relationships and business opportunities.

As a Business Development Leader, you will be responsible for owning and driving the growth and evolution of Back to the Roots in your region.  Primary responsibilities include maintaining and growing sales in established retail channels, as well as identifying and opening new retail accounts, in your region.  Activities will include conducting in-store demonstrations, managing relationships with store staff, as well as other support activities to monitor and maintain sales.  Activities may also include participation in trade shows, special events, marketing activities, and other work relevant to marketing and selling BTTR’s products within your region, and outside of your region if needed.  You will work closely with BTTR’s management team to coordinate strategies for achieving company goals, as well as receive all necessary support you might need in your new role. North Carolina: Inter-Faith Food Shuttle seeks Two Interns

Local Food Outreach Intern:   10-15 hours each week, 3 month commitment desired

This intern will support IFFS programs to assist farmers and gardeners in donating fresh produce to feed people in need. Through our Field Gleaning program we visit area farms and glean excess produce. Plant a Row for the Hungry provides opportunities for gardeners to donate homegrown produce through drop-off sites in the community.

Activities may include:

  • Conduct program outreach and volunteer recruitment
  • Identify local gardening publications and groups to promote programs and volunteer opportunities
  • Help plan volunteer appreciation and/or recruitment events
  • Assist in publishing a newsletter (PAR)
  • Write feature stories, design flyers, take photographs at local gardens
  • Create and conduct presentations at farmers market meetings

Sustainable Food Center (SFC) cultivates a healthy community by strengthening the local food system and improving access to nutritious, affordable food.  Sustainable Food Center is hiring three (3) individuals through the Americorps*VISTA program of the Corporation for National and Community Service to organize school-based wellness teams that will plan and implement comprehensive health programming.  SFC’s Sprouting Healthy Kids project is a farm-to-school and food-systems education initiative that includes incorporation of locally grown fresh foods into school cafeterias, plus in-class and after-school gardening and cooking educational activities.  Marathon Kids is a free six-month endurance building running/walking and nutrition program for K-5th public, private and home-schooled children and their families.
