In support of this mission, Seed Savers Exchange is currently hiring a Field Manager to manage and perform all aspects of organic seed production and vegetative crops propagation of our collection varieties.  Working under the guidance of the Collection Curator, the Field Manager will be directly involved with and responsible for all stages of germplasm regeneration and collection maintenance in the field. 

Wisconsin: GrowSureEase, LLC seeks Assistant Production Manager

We are accepting applications for a year round working managerial position on our farm within the city.  Must have at least three years experience in growing vegetables organically, and will assist with the planning and management / implementation of field and greenhouse operations such as soil nutritional management, planting and cultivating /weeding, disease scouting and prevention, cover crops, composting and boundary fields and boundary areas.

This position entails growing vegetables in minimally heated greenhouse through the Wisconsin winters, transitioning to spring bedding plant sales and seeds grown for our own transplants, as well as tomatoes and peppers etc. in summer.  CSA marketing and management experience required.  Ability to lead work teams with an emphasis on food safety and quality is key to growing the business, and will allow management and committed staff to share in profits via payment in wage plus shares of the farm.

The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association announces an immediate opening for a Certification Specialist.  We are interested in candidates with experience with certified organic livestock.

Position Summary

The Certification Specialist will provide support to OEFFA Certification by conducting extensive review of applications submitted by organic growers and processors.  The Certification Specialist will also provide technical assistance to these clients and assist them in maintaining compliance with the federal organic standards.  He or she will participate in policy development and educational programming as well.

Wisconsin: MOSA seeks Organic Certification Customer Service Associate

Iowa: Seed Savers Exchange seeks Horticultural Assistant

Seed Savers Exchange is currently seeking a Horticultural Assistant to work with curatorial staff on all field and lab projects supporting the maintenance of our heirloom and open-pollinated corn collection. Work will be performed both outside in the field and inside in the seed lab and will include project tracking and documentation. This position is located at Heritage Farm in Decorah, IA.   This is a 40 hour/week position, scheduled to run from early July through December.

The Michigan State University (MSU) Department of Horticulture is hiring a Hoophouse Outreach Assistant. The position will report directly to the MSU Student Organic Farm (MSU-SOF) Outreach Coordinator. This is a 9-month, temporary employment position with no benefits offered.
